Northern Latitudes was inspired by two field recordings made by Chris Watson for a CD called ‘The Sea Ice Border’. It comprises of two recordings: 89 24 N Below and 89 24 N Above. Both feature in the mix at the beginning and end. The music in between was chosen based on the feel of those sounds.
Brendan Trinkle’s latest album release, The Quarry, was recorded during the winter of 2011. “One hears often that beauty is all around, that art imitates life, that real life is stranger than fiction, but I think perhaps many of the words we write aspire toward our ideals.”
