Scott Orr is an indie folk singer from Hamilton, Canada. Aside from preferring the studio over live gigs he doesn’t give much away. His latest album, Where I Lived, And What I Lived For, which is released on a lovely little label called Other Songs Music Co. is beautiful.

Accoustic, gentle chorals and percussion and an occasional harmonica offer the backdrop to Scott Orr’s endearing voice. It’s fair to say that Scott has been hidden away to some extent. He only announced this week that he had a label. If you love the likes of Marcus Foster then you’ll love this! Scott has a very emotive voice with a slight fragility which adds an honest and sincere depth to his songs. The musical arrangements have been carefully considered, not too sparse and not too busy. A top album! Highlights: In The Belly of the Whale and the wonderful Between the Mountains and the Sea which has a lovely female chorus and added strings.

You can listen to the album in full below as well as watch a behind the scenes video montage of the making of the album.
