Im not too sure of the date but approx 17 years ago I went to see a very young (probably about 15 'ish) Kellie While at a pub in Chester think it was the Queens Head (upstairs) at this time she was singing as a duo with another young girl whos name I think was Sarah Mathews they were both the offspring of their mums duo Chris While /.....Mathews cant remember Sarahs mums name but I know they both sang a couple of songs.
I know what Kellie went on to do and have got a few bits of her on cd but I was wondering if Sarah went on to do anything else it was a lovely gig and just thought someone out there maybe able to enlighten me .

Ta couldnt remember Julie's name and it was she that invited me to the gig as I had just sold her some carpet and we got talking about music , now I just have to find out if sarah is doing anything since I saw her all those years ago .

Chris and Julie have been firm favourites for years and so naturally have kept up with what Kellie has been doing. But hadn't ever heard a whisper of a Julie Matthews offspring! So, you live and learn. A quick browse of My Space only threw up one UK based Sarah Matthews (duo with Doug Eunson) and there's nothing on their pages to suggest that it's the same Sarah. So, over to the rest of the crew, any more info?

Have just emailed Chris and Julie via their website so hopefully will get some answers to help out my fading memory :thumbsup:

I have to agree I'm not sure about a Julie Mathews offspring! but I'm sure you will keep us informed.

I do know of another singer / friend who Kellie has played with in the past. Her name is Emily Slade and Kellie has also played on her album too, along with people like Phil Beer. Their friendship stems from the fact that Emily's parents have run Hitchin Folk Club for the past 40 year and are long term friends of Chris While and Julie Mathews.

Emily stopped playing for a while to start a family but I'm pleased to say she has started performing again and has a new album due later this year. I've also recommended her to another local venue The Stables and she due to play there in April, I hope the audience turn out does her justice, not only is she a good singer / songwriter she's an excellent guitarist too, you can have a listen at www.myspace.com/emilyslademusic

Pleased to hear that Emily is coming back on to the circuit. Really enjoyed her voice the couple of times that I saw her with the Phil Beer Band. I'll look out for her.
