Default Ukulele Lessons Needed - Bedfordshire Area

I am really keen on learning how to play the Ukuele but i can't find a tutor.
I would prefer to have a tutor than just watch youtube videos.
could anybody perhaps tell me of somebody who teaches?
I live in bedford and i am 15
    Thanks

Hi Dan, and welcome to FRUK

I'm not sure, but I think you might be our youngest member.
You'll find lots of encouragement here, and everyone's very friendly.

    Re the Uke:-

I posted once before about a Ukele site, which you might find useful:-

    http://www.folkradio.co.uk/forum/8988-post15.html

Here's also a list of guitar teachers in Bedford, if you contact one of them, they might be able to put you right re a teacher.

    http://www.jhs.co.uk/teacher.htm

Failing that, ask at your local Music shop - they often have their finger on the pulse about such things, I know ours is very good.

It seems that the Uke is really taking off in the popularity stakes recently - I wonder what has caused this?

    Good luck with your quest

    Bob

PS. Have you seen this youtube?

YouTube - while my ukelele gently weeps

    Hi, Dan.

Unfortunately, I'm nowhere near Bedfordshire, but welcome to FRUK.

Dan, if not yet sorted, nip over to Hobgoblin Music at Newport Pagnell - books and dvds available from there - and a good range of ukes too.

Hi Ukeshale, and welcome to the FRUK forum.

Suddenly everyone is playing ukes. What's going on? What's influencing the uke scene?

Thanks for the kind welcome. I really couldn't tell you what's made it explode in such a way, especially this year. I've been playing for about a year now. I'd spent most of my life exclusively on piano, prior to uke.

oh and can I just say that for anybody who's looking for ukulele lessons, theory and just all round sound advice for everything from strings to the pesky E chord - check out Ukulele Underground - Free online video ukulele lessons, tabs, chords, and the largest ukulele forum on the internet! - i frequent there and you won't find a friendlier bunch of people. plus they use exactly the same forum outlay as this place

    Great stuff, uke.
