Default VW Bus has turned 60

To all you Camper van tourists.

I heard today that the first VW Bus "The Bulli" came onto the market 60 years ago, begining of March 1950.

It was originaly concepted as a transport van, hence the "T" in the model number.

The T1 was built upto 1967, 1.83 million of them, they only had 25 bhp.

The second generation T2 was built upto 1979.

The T5 is the fifth and current generation of the Bulli (as they are called here)

"The bset sulotoins aern't awlyas ovbuois."

Thanks for that Tam. Let's all wish them a Happy Birthday. I'll give my T4 a special pat when I get home tonight.:)
It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

    Thanks for that mate,

In the UK the Type 1 was always referred to as "the Beetle", and the Type 2 was the "split screen" and "bay window" model. The third version was called the type 25, It's all very confusing.
Whatever, it's still the buses birthday :hurray: HAPPY BIRTHDAY :hurray:

    Mark:thumbsup:
