    Default Bellowhead Gig Review

Just got back from Bellowhead at Wrexham university, still buzzing , legs aching and hands hurting but what a great night .

Second time I have seen them and yet again they live up to all claims of best live act out there .Nice theatre on the university campus ,talking to Sam Sweeney before the gig and he was really amazed at how many tickets they had sold for tonight 700 plus he said and certainly the crowd up front right against the stage front where I was had a great time bouncing along to the energetic performance on stage .

Band played a good mix from the first 2 cds plus a couple of new songs from the next release due out I believe november time.
As ever Songs such as Prickle eye Bush ,Jordan ,London Town ,Rigs of the Time ,Sloe Gin,Frogs Legs ,Rochdale Coconut Dance , Fire Marengo , Fakenham fair ,Roll down the Bay ,Kafoozalem ,Cholera Camp ,Widows Curse ,Whisky is the life of me made up the main set plus a few Im sure I have forgot ...:)

Mr Boden kept the crowd entertained between songs and the night was never short on laughter such a great mix of characters in one band .
Benji was missing from the line up as he had prior commitments elsewhere but his place was very well filled by Jim Moray a very talented musician who slotted in very nicely, all though at some points seemed a little unsure not unsurprisingly as to what was going on :)

So 2 hours later exhuasted but very happy we spilled out onto the the snow covered streets of Wrexham to head back home very happy full of smiles and very very aching legs :smilielol5:

If you havent done already and you do get the chance to see them go for it ...you wont regret it .

We saw them at the Cheese and Grain, Frome a couple of months back and, despite the lousy sound at the C&G (as always), can heartily endorse the above review. They were supported by Belshazzar's Feast so Paul Sartin didn't get much rest that night.

Thanks for the review of Bellowhead. It looks like there will be plenty of opportunity to see them this summer as they appear to be booked for every festival going, Oxford, Cropredy, Folk by the Oak, Towersey, Shrewsbury. Still you can never get too much of them I guess.
