Default Celtic / Roots Stream - Reducing listener slots

    Hi Folks

It looks like many folks are feeling the blunt end of the recession as donations have dwindled. In order to stop ourselves going in the red we are reducing the number of listener slots available on the Celtic Roots stream.

There will be more noticeable instances of the "Up to capacity" message, particulalry at peak times.

I'm sure this is only a temporary glitch and things will pick up again soon.

I'll post a similar message on the main site.

    Cheers

    Alex

    Unhappy

On a few occasions recently (since your post Alex) I've found myself 'dumped' mid-listen. At first I though it was simply a buffering issue (which I get sometimes, mostly in work), but I've been getting a "Server Full" message pop up on Winamp.

Do you know if the server dumps 'existing' listeners to make way for newcomers as they 'tune in'? Never had this happen in the past, i.e. since I first started listening back in June '08.

    Any ideas boss?

I saw that Alex, but failed to make the connection!

My problem first happened last week. I forget what day, but certainly well before yesterday when you posted about connection problems - and as you're usually on top of these things straight away I thought it was a different thing. Ah well, if it happens again I'll let you know.
