    Default The Station Clock

Am I going slightly mad? No don't even bother to consider an answer to that one.

Is my laptop losing its grip on temporal reality? Or does the time shown for postings on the forum keep slipping back an hour and then re-setting forward again? So has Alex, in addition to all his other accomplishments, cracked the time travel conundrum?

Nicely put...not sure on that one John. If it starts getting silly it will be because the server time is being changed for some daft reason which shouldn't happen, but I've learnt to never say never in this world as I've been wrong too many times to make a habit of it. I'll try and keep an eye on it. You weren't lightspeeding was you?

If you're not worried then I'll take your lead and stop monitoring my laptop for signs of worm holes

you set the time in your individual control panel mate. Check your settings:

User CP / Edit Options / Date and Time Options

Seems fine to me, your post displays as 11.23pm for me

    Dear Sir,

Is that why when I Log on, sometimes, and click on New Posts it tells me there aren't any, even when there are some, actually ?

    Dear Puzzled

It's that pesky time machine again, I'm afraid.
Sometimes when you log in, the random temporal anomaly that makes the station clock go dooo-lally means that you're actually logging in before the new posts that you saw before you logged in have been posted.
The only remedy, I'm afraid, is to run three times widdershins round your MP3 player while reciting as many anagrams of Ewan MacColl as you can think of.

Whoever said being a post-modernist folkie was going to be easy?

You're in fine spirits! Love it...

There was a young lady named Bright,
    Whose speed was exceedingly light.
She left one day in a relative way,
    And returned the previous night!
