Robert Newton an old alkie of yesteryear in the celluloid days. Nevertheless, when young he was as pretty as Johnny Depp....

...well not really just watched. More like many moons ago and then again many moons later. Anyway, anybody else seen "The Straight Story"? I was browsing my library a while back for a DVD to have a night in when, I don't know, this one seemed to grab me. Nothing spectacular about it anywhere but it turned out to be quite a nice little film. Its about this old man...lawn mower...

You know how some films make the music and vice versa - the music making the film? This one worked together. Great film, great music(Angelo Badalamenti). Go grab if you can.

No I didn't, ended up watching BBC iPlayer - How to Live a Simple Life: Episode 1

a complete waste of time for me.

The Shantie programme looked good but wasn't something I thought Amanda would sit through.

One to watch on iPlayer I think

Yerse, I watched it and thought the presenter was a little bit of a dickie head but the singing was v good. I would have liked more songs and less of him saying,"How astonishing" etc. But that is because I am old and curmudgeonly.
