Silent Poetry is Darren Black's debut album. There is no doubt that he's profile is growing and it's no surprise. He's a masterful musician and writes very strong and passionate lyrics. This is one hell of an album!

To understand Darren's strength just listen to the track "follow the piper." It is an incredibly haunting song about our collapsing environment which leads you on a blind dance with a haunting fiddle...it ends suddenly which gives the song such power you almost catch your breath. Clever timing and a unique awareness for blending words and music so that they feed off each other to create a poignant atmosphere for each story to unfold into. Just as he songs can hold warning in them they also have passion and a great depth of beauty.

I could go on and on about this album, his fiddle playing is second to none...listen to him play on "Hold the Tide". His playing has a real raw natural energy to it...bloody great
