This is the second solo album from Shetland fiddler Catriona Macdonald. The music is upbeat and is built on her continued work with top Scottish jazz and folk musicians David Milligan, piano, Conrad Ivitsky, double bass and James Mackintosh on drums/percussion. This new album sees Catriona delve deeply into her rich island fiddle heritage playing a variety of tunes from wedding marches, slow airs to lively jigs and reels. Many of the new tunes are written by Macdonald and the music is rich and full with swirling harmonies, and all are played with a lightness of touch that sounds fresh and exciting.
