On Tuesday 30th October Folk Radio UK will be featuring a live recording of Margaret Bennett's book launch from the Edinburgh International Book Festival 2006.

The book is "It's Not the Time You have.." Notes and Memories of Music-making with Martyn Bennett. This is a moving tribute with recollections and music from Margaret, Cathal McConnel, Allan MacDonald, Calum Martin and Joanie Bronfman.

It also features the music of Martyn Bennett.

Margaret Bennett kindly agreed to provide the recording to Folk Radio UK. If you haven't heard of Martyn, make the effort to tune in as he was an amazing young man that achieved so much and influenced so many in the short time he was here. He was a genius.

The Book

Compiled by Margaret Bennett, has the voices of more than forty individuals telling what it was like to work with Martyn, play music with him, or simply share time with him. this book of bright memories shows the less public side of Martyn. It may bring a tear to your eye, but it will also make you smile, or laugh at the hilarious anecdotes woven though what Margaret calls “Notes, Ramblings and Other Scribbles”.  All the drawings are by Martyn himself—a gifted artist in every sense...
