Folk Radio UK was founded in 2004. The website and radio station have rapidly grown to become a leading Webzine covering primarily Folk and Roots music as well as some more alternative offerings.

Folk Radio UK is the ideal one-stop-shop for fans of Folk, Roots and Americana making us also an ideal platform for potential advertisers like you: whether you be an artist, promoter, record label or a festival we have a great platform for you to promote from right here providing a reach beyond that of magazines in the same field.

Your adverts aren’t tucked away in a mass of pages, every visitor to our website sees your advert from the moment they hit our homepage and on every article page.

We have a fantastic audience reach, way beyond that of magazines in the same field with over 50,000 unique monthly visitors who return on a regular basis due to our large number of reviews, news, premieres and exclusive features, not to mention our 24 Hour radio stream where you can hear the very music we write about. We are by far one of the busiest Folk and Roots website there is and for that reason your adverts receive continued high exposure.

The proof of that engagement is there to be clearly seen in our continually growing social media network. We have the largest folk and roots social media following in the UK 24k followers on Facebook and Twitter and 10.8k followers on Soundcloud. All these connections as well as Deezer where 12 million users have access to our radio channel link back to our content which draws in a wealth of traffic – this makes your adverts work.

Our position in the music scene is backed up by the actual response and action of others:
The following examples are not small gestures, those that have partnered with us have done so because of our passion for what we do and our market position.

Nov 2012:
Launch of new Folk Radio UK radio channel on leading music streaming service Deezer (the only such partnership they have in relation to folk music) accessed by 12 million monthly active users. This in turn drives new traffic to our website.

Jun 2014:
FRUK partner with Bob Harris and Under The Apple Tree sessions, a live session series aimed at showcasing the best musical talent in a unique location.

Oct 2014:
Launch live music night ‘The Levels Collective‘ in partnership with Bridgwater Art Centre. A live monthly Folk Music Night showcasing emerged, emerging, trad, alt, roots, world, Americana and more.

The Guardian who featured us in their G2 supplement on their Radio and TV Guide in 2011.
