For all of those who managed to make The Young’Uns Christmas tour last year, and all those whose didn’t, the North-East trio have announced that they will once again don their festive jumpers for a lighthearted romp through Christmas’ past. From carols rooted deep in the soil of pagan Britain, to original songs of seasonal cheer and heartbreak, the three wise men of folk will be pouring cider over trees, warding off evil spirits
with fire and singing to pigs heads.

More from The Young’Uns
Last month we announced that Peter Bellamy’s 1977 masterpiece Ballad-Opera ‘The Transports’ was to be re-told featuring The Young’uns, Faustus, Nancy Kerr and members of Bellowhead together on stage (read more about it here).
In that news-piece, we ran a CD giveaway of the original release so congrats to our two winners who were Ian Rumboldt and Lynda Sweeby. Your CDs are in the post.
David Eagle’s DJ Set from Folk East
For those of you wanting a little light relief, listen to David Eagle’s DJ set from this year’s FolkEast Festival, a world where folk music and pop music collide. Where Michael Jackson flirts with British traditional folk music, Greg Russell & Ciaran Algar join forces with Daft Punk, The Watersons share the stage with Van-Halen, the Prodigy embrace sea shanties, and the Unthanks experiment with death metal.
