Our Song of the Day comes from Jim Causley with Home, from his new album Forgotten Kingdom (read our review here). Jim shared the following about the song:
The melody of the chorus was the first bit that came to me when I was messing about on the piano. It had a bit of a country feel to it which no doubt stems from all the John Denver my mum had playing in the background of my youth! The topic is something very close to my heart; five years ago my family made the difficult decision to leave the house in rural East Devon where they had lived for many years and where I grew up. It was a massive wrench and still is something that my mum and I are struggling to come to terms with. My grand plan is that this album will makes me my millions and I’ll be able to buy it back again!
There is a special album launch at Kings Place this Wednesday 17th February with special guests (details provided by Jim): Nick Wyke & Becki Driscoll (Fiddles), Steve Tyler & Katy Marchant (Hurdy-Gurdy & English Bagpipes) and Steve Knightley & Phil Beer (nose flute & kazoo)…
