Béla Fleck & Abigail Washburn’s self-titled debut album, which was a Featured Album of the Month on Folk Radio UK (read the review here), has won a Grammy for ‘Best Folk Album’.
They reminded the audience that they’ve been together twelve years and up until this release had toured separately. Things soon changed when they had a baby and they decided it was probably time they also made a record together. As well as being the first banjo duo album released they demonstrated what could be achieved when combining two individual styles of playing. Watch their acceptance speech below:
