This Autumn, join much-loved Yorkshire folk duo, Belinda O’Hooley and Heidi Tidow as they travel the land in Birgitte; their trusty old camper van, to play 30 micro gigs in 30 real ale venues (dates below).
The duo who were Folk Radio UK’s Artist of the Month last year in the lead up to the release of their album The Hum (review here) have had a personal invite from Billy Bragg to play Glastonbury, sessions on 6 Music and Radio 2, a five star live review and feature in The Guardian, one of Mojo’s Top 10 Folk Albums of 2014, and a nomination for ‘Best Duo’ in this year’s BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. Mojo described them as ‘one of British folk’s mightiest combinations’ a sentiment we entirely support.
Known for their exquisite harmonies, sublime musicality and cheeky northern banter, the duo will perform a new show of contemporary and traditional drinking songs in celebration of real ale, real music and real people in really intimate venues.
The duo are also releasing a micro album to coincide with the tour. Summat’s Brewin’ is a collection of traditional, contemporary and self-penned drinking songs that explore society’s fascination with drink, drinking and of course the real ale revolution. This limited edition album of 1000 signed copies is available to pre-order from their mailing list and will be on sale only for the duration of the Summat’s Brewin’ Micro Tour.
