Listen to Dry Haze, an experimental piece conceived by composer Werner Cee, commissioned by German radio. Based on the Lord Byron poem Darkness, and capturing the atmosphere of the ‘year without a summer’ following the 1784 Laki eruption resulting in the ‘densest and dry haze over Europe since the Middle Ages, the 47 minute piece features the voices of Rachel Unthank, Becky Unthank and Adrian McNally. The sung vocals in this abstract piece are entirely improvised.
The Unthanks collaborate with German sound artist Werner Cee
