On this weeks Bob’s Folk Show Emily Baker is in session. It was during a visit to the American South that Emily Baker penned her latest album, All At Sea. A record of raw and rugged beauty, the result of a 4000-mile round trip with touring buddy Kira Small. Recorded in just three days with Gavin Monaghan (Robert Plant / Scott Matthews). Its nine tracks represent a high watermark in Emily’s career; All at Sea is the sound of boundless prairies and big skies.
A few words from Bob:
Emily Baker is making waves in our music world! She is everywhere! Following my show she played at the great Union Music Store in Lewes on the Saturday and I have just read that her new album (All at Sea) was given four stars by Q magazine.
I like it when I have a guest on the show that that I’ve never met before and don’t know that well…by the end of this session felt like we were good old friends but it was very easy to feel that, as you will hear.
We did talk about some strange things from Cats to Body Hair, The USA and The Naked Rambler!
James Smith came along with Emily and he is one hell of a side kick to have playing with you, he’s a very understated guitar player, not an easy talent.
In addtion to the seesion I’ll be playing tracks from Tracks from:
- Sam Lee
- Dan Beasley
- The Moon the Son and the Daughter’s
- Stick in the Wheel
- Dylan Walshe
- Lisa Knapp
