Our time at Purbeck Folk Festival for whom we were a media sponsor this year was one of the most enjoyable we’ve ever had at a festival in years. We recorded a number of sessions while we were there including this one with the spectacular Moulettes which was also one of the most amusing, interspersed with lots of giggles from Georgina who can set anyone off. Maybe it was the festival atmosphere as the same happened on stage on the Saturday part way through a song which made them all the more endearing and entertaining.

We recently reviewed their new album ‘The Bear’s Revenge‘ as well as featuring an exclusive video (read & watch it here). As we said then, ‘their sound palette is colourful, playful and unexpected’ and they played true to this image when we stood outside one of their vans early Sunday morning when everyone was looking like they had had a good time the night before. The results speak for themselves:

Unlock the Doors
Grumpelstiltskin’s Jig

The band are touring heavily with dates at festivals and venues all over he UK including a great Communion gig at The Tabernacle in London on 24th November 2012. Tickets and dates here.

Moulette Hannah

Hannah deciding what to play early Sunday morning whilst the remaining family of Folk Radio UK look on from beyond.

In full Swing

The Moulettes in full swing, Georgina (violin) managed to contain her giggles throughout most of the set.

Recording the session

Recording the session between two doors of the Moulettes van to cut down the wind, it worked!
