Contemporary folk/acoustic duo Gilmore & Roberts are set to release their eagerly awaited third album this autumn on Navigator Records. ‘The Innocent Left‘, recorded in London with producer Julian Simmons (Guillemots, Ed Sheeran, Albert Lee), sees the duo combine award-winning songwriting with astounding lap-tapping guitar, fiery fiddle and their trademark harmonies to create a powerful wall of sound.

The album explores many and varied topics but remains consistently bound by Gilmore & Roberts’ passion for stories. Featuring an enviable all-star cast of guest musicians, including double bassist Ben Nicholls (Seth Lakeman band), drummer Tom Chapman (Urban Folk Quartet), pianist Will Foster (The Fratellis) and prodigious Georgia-based band Larkin Poe, ‘The Innocent Left’ encompasses elements of folk, bluegrass and rock while maintain the Yorkshire-based pair’s own distinctive stylings.

Katriona Gilmore (The Albion Band) and Jamie Roberts (Kerfuffle) began working together in 2006, subsequently releasing two full-length albums: ‘Shadows & Half Light’ (2008) and ‘Up From The Deep’ (2010). two years later. Both received much critical acclaim, leading to a tour supporting Fairport Convention and a BBC Radio 2 Folk Award nomination.

The Innocent Left is released on October 29 (Navigator Records) and will be available exclusively on tour from September 5.
