Introducing: Jake Bugg

Jake Bugg should need no introduction to many of you…he must feel like he’s on a rollercoaster of a ride having first come to recognition after a local DJ submitted one of his tracks to BBC Introducing which has since led to a slot at Glastonbury and supporting the likes of Communion favourite Michael Kiwanuka on his European tour earlier this year. He’s stripped down rawness is reminiscent of a cross between early White Stripes and a 50′s skiffle band and his young confident swagger which comes across well on the cover of his forthcoming album (out in October) is a leaf straight from the Gallagher’s.

Also get your hands on his latest EP ‘Taste It‘, the release of which was bought forward to satisfy the growing demand for this 18 year old Nottingham born newcomer. Noel Gallagher has been championing his love for Jake Bugg having picked him for his special gig with XFM and the War Child charity at London’s Camden Dingwalls on August 14. He’ll also be supporting Noel along with Snow Patrol later this year in the US but there will be plenty of opportunities to catch him in the UK before then. He has a string of dates and performances having just played Cambridge Folk Festival (dates below). Whilst Jake’s harder driving tracks such as Taste It and Lightning Bolt are getting the most exposure have a listen to his ‘Country Song’ and the acoustic version ‘Someone Told Me’ to get the full guage of what he’s capable of.
