The new Simple Folk Radio show which we air today at 5.00pm will be presented by your regular SFR host Dillon along with Nicol (from the anti-folk band Frozy). The show will feature a session from Turner Cody and some great tracks from Nicol and Dillon as they take turns selecting some favourites.
Nicol is perhaps the longest running collaborator on Simple Folk Radio. A true music freak in the nicest possible sense, when we first met he was sneaking into shows whilst still under age, but has since performed numerous times with many of his musical hero’s (Kimya Dawson, Jeffrey Lewis, Dufus), has toured both Europe and America as part of Frozy, and co-runs the independant DIY label Tri-Lingual Records.
Turner Cody is a prolific songwriter who has been performing and recording for over ten years, his first commercial release was on Rough Trade’s 2002 Anti-folk Vol.1 alongside Adam Green, Kimya Dawson, Jeffrey Lewis and others from NYC’s Sidewalk Café scene.
