Another revelationary video featuring Lau. Strange Attractors was one of their biggest projects of 2011 with the Northern Sinfonia and the Northern Ireland composer Brian Irvine. The project was musically inspired by the American composer Charles Ives and the title was inspired by the work of American sculptor Sarah Sze and takes its name from one of her installations (see below). As mentioned in the video this isn’t just about an orchestra backing some folk musicians playing a nice tune…they explore a whole new harmonic realm filled with complex rythms which maybe shouldn’t work when different tempos come into play but it does!
