Occupation Records is a new record label that was started by a number of occupiers at Occupy London. Their first release is to be a Folk complation with the apt title of Folk the Banks.

Already the work of Occupation Records has been getting attention from the likes of The Guardian which is no surprise when you see the work they have been doing. They have formed the 45 Revolutions Per Minute Collective which brings together a bunch of people with wide and valued experience from around the music industry, PR, web design and direct action.

Folk the Banks
will be released digitally this month and later followed by a worldwide physical release. The album features top line up of artists including: Ani Di Franco, Tom Morello, Tao Seeger, Billy Bragg and Sam Duckworth of Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly.

Artwork for the album has been created especially for the Folk the Banks album by acclaimed punk rock British artist Jamie Reid, famed for the Sex Pistol’s single God Save the Queen artwork.

The funding from the album will go towards the Occupy movement in London, around the UK and Ireland, and globally. To find out more and to support the project go here!
