Centro-matic – Iso Residue

In 2008, Will Johnson released Dual Hawks, a double album, only by virtue that he was the one constant between the two discs. The first CD featured Centro-Matic and the second his other band South San Gabriel. It was not difficult to pick a favourite, South San Gabriel came out smelling of roses and was a regular feature in our playlists back then. On balance it had a nicer melancholic acoustic edge over the Centro-matic tracks although it also had its gentler moments with ‘Counting the Scars’ and ‘Twenty-Four’.

Candidate Waltz is the latest Centro-matic offering from Will Johnson, which has maintained that electric indie rock feel. It was therefore a pleasant surprise to find this ccoustic version of Iso Residue filmed live at Rubber Gloves Rehearsal Studio:

If you’re new to Centro-matic then why not try this free 24 track sampler put together by Will: Download Sampler.

Enjoy!
