After offering a chance for film-makers to make a video to Junip’s ‘Without You’ they have picked a winner from the many submissions they received. They fell for the dreamy quality of the video by co-Dependency, because of their interpretation and warm lo-fi feeling. The video was shot in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Ultra 16 mm.
The shooting of the video was far from straightforward and if anyone is wondering about the use of digital effects:
All that you see in this video is on film, no digital effects. It was shot on 50D vision 2 kodak stock, and was telecined by Cinelicious. I am a huge fan of film, but it is rather difficult to make 40+ year old equipment play nicely. It is all shot on a beaulieu r-16 with a modified gate to allow for the 16:9 ratio.
