The Big Eyes Family Players’ bandleader James Green has a busy weekend ahead of him this July 23-24. As part of this year’s Tramlines Festival in Sheffield, Green has co-curated The Folk Forest in Endcliffe Park, a two-day stage featuring Nancy Elizabeth, Rozi Plain, Martin Simpson, Nancy Kerr and James Fagan, Tyde, Phantom Dog Beneath the Moon and many more. The event is being organised by Regather Co-Operative who also help arrange Peace in The Park, a one day Sheffield free festival held in June.

The Folk Forest will transform a beautiful and secluded part of Endcliffe Park into a thriving celebration of Folk music and beyond.

Other highlights include a Ceilidh hosted by the Monster Ceilidh Band, traditional dancing and local ales. A second stage will offer the chance to catch up on the best of Sheffield based folk performers and open mic opportunities all day Saturday, so bring down your instruments!

James Green has also been commissioned to create a linocut print for Folk Forest and will also be spinning his favorite 7″ at Tramlines’ “7 by 7” event at The Forum on July 24 alongside Warp DJs , Kid Acne , Toddla T and film-maker Shane Meadows.
