The silence beneath the bark is a short film animation by joanna lurie. Prepare to enter her own fairytale land set in a pine forest during winter inspired by her own childhood. Her first glimpse of the giant Sequoia tree forests introduced a new world where the dense trees combined with the great height allow for no reference point creating an alien world. The same atmosphere is conveyed in the animation where the characters are equally other-worldly and speak no known language.
