It is Freebie Friday yet again…having missed last week due to an unavoidable situation, one I don’t intend to repeat here, I have dug deep to pull out some new and interesting tracks for you all. Artists include: CocoRosie, Bellowhead, Here We Go Magic, Shearwater and Woodsman… Enjoy!
CocoRosie
Despite attracting some narrow minded journalist attention they still remain a progressive and inventive duo which can only be good for music. CocoRosie began in Paris, France and formed by Sierra Casady (Rosie) and Bianca Casady (Coco) in 2003. Sierra and Bianca Casady are North American half-Cherokee sisters. Sierra, the older of the two, was born in Iowa, and Bianca was born in Hawaii. Their mother nicknamed them Rosie and Coco, respectively, from which their musical act takes its name.

Shearwater
A personal favourite from the ornithologically inspired Shearwater.

Woodsman
Woodsman is an experimental ambient post-psychedelic band (main picture up top) based in Denver, CO. The quartet contains two totemic percussionists and two sonic animators who employ electric guitars, feedback loops, and recorded samples to build the dreamy astral soundscapes that define Woodsman’s sound. Influenced by hazy mountain passes, the cinema of Stan Brakhage, and early 1970’s improvisational recordings by Miles Davis Woodsman has crafted aural offerings that are uniquely their own.
