Troubadour Rose are Bryony Afferson, Lizzy O Connor, Eddie Edwards, Gary Bridgewood and Magnus Alanko. Sometimes when you come across a newly discovered band you get a feeling in your gut that you’ve found something special. I get this feeling about this bunch. In their own words:

We’re wonderfully new and undiscovered, our music puts people in a funny trance which sometimes can be worrying, how will they ever come out of it?! We’re a somewhat mixed bunch … is it normal for an ex rockabilly double bassist to fraternise with an artisan of all things old and violin? Or a Yorkshire lass, scratching out songs from her guitar and wailing the loralie to find percussion in a Finnish drummer? Let alone to find a folk hearty Northerner on Gum Tree who can play all that her fingers touch?

Fortune and luck struck us a golden deal when stringing us together, and in return we march us up to the top of the hill, and we won’t come down again.

Much as I would like to dissect them and assign them a genre and association with a raft of influences, someteimes you’re best shutting up and playing them…

So here they are:

There! Told you they were bloody good.

If you’re in the festival booking game, wake up and book’em!
