From The people who brought you ‘Tapestry Goes West’ Wild West and Medieval Festivals from 2003 through to 2008 in Cornwall and Wales respectively comes a one day event in the walled garden at Shenley Park in the Hertfordshire countryside. Half an hour north of London, 1 mile from Radlett Station with trains from Kings Cross Station leaving every half hour. Formerly Shenley Mental Institution the Victorian walled garden was where the staff and patients grew the food for the kitchens and in the nineties was landscaped and terraced with great care by the current occupiers The Shenley Trust.
Promoter Barry Stilwell says ‘the basic idea behind any Tapestry Festival event has been to put on the hottest live acts in one lovely place and watch them in the sunshine with not many other people drinking nice beer and eating good food with out getting hassled by security, ripped off or looking at big screens with ads on them…This particular event is very small with capacity of around 500 people. It is unsponsored and unfunded and it’s going to be a lot of fun…’
The Magic Numbers – in ferociously rockin’ live form at the moment will be coming straight from the previous nights gig supporting Dylan at Hop Farm
The Jim Jones Revue – an absolute knuckle sandwich of a band, described in Mojo as ‘the best rock’n’rollband on the planet ‘ – sound like Little Richard jamming with the MC5, guaranteed to blow your ears off
Kitty, Daisy and Lewis – Tapestry regulars virtually since birth still far too young to be this good
The Trembling Bells – comparisons to the Fairportsand Pentangle don’t tell the whole story beautiful stuff from Scotland. The legendary Joe Boyds favourite new band
Oldboy – pretenders guitarist James Walbournes new trio with brother Rob and mate Carwyn – very soulful rock ‘n’ blues
The Blacklist – great young St Albans band recent winners of ’Horn of Plenty’ battle of the bands
the event will also include a proper canvas beer tent provided by the legendary Betsey Trotwood – ‘fine ales at pub prices, south Turkish cuisine, alternative press comic fair and The Hemel Hempstead Brass Band
