Looks like the Wiyos are now on the road to some great exposure. Maverick Magazine reports: following their success at the Barbican’s Folk America series with Seasick Steve in January, Brooklyn-based four-piece the Wiyos have been working non-stop ever since and landed their busiest summer ever—a 27-date US run opening for the Bob Dylan/ Willie Nelson/John Mellencamp tour of mid-range baseball stadiums. That was perfect timing for the band, who had a brand new album released on July 1 and began a major radio push in the UK in the build-up to their return here for a string of dates in January 2010. The album, a follow-up to their 2007-issued CD, THE WIYOS, is the first release to feature Teddy Webber who has recently joined the band from the Hunger Mountain Boys.
Well done boys!
